During this unit, students will learn about general areas of employment within the field of sports medicine, understand the personal and interpersonal charicteristics required for a career in the field, and explore the benefits of appropriate attitude and professionalism within the field.

Lessons in this Unit
Students will research a chosen profession in groups of 2 or 3. Professions chosen will be written on the board in order to not repeat. Students will research, create a poster/ presentation, and present information on different medical careers using computer stations to access the internet and Occupational Outlook Handbook.

In this chapter, the student has the opportunity to learn about careers in rehabilitative health care, beginning with a look at the specific careers, their educational requirements, their potential earnings, and their role in rehabilitative care. The student then explores several specific therapies, including pharmacology, speech pathology, audiology, and respiratory therapy.
