Unit Overview / Details
This unit explores health enhancing behaviors including optimal nutrition and exercise, minimizing the use of legal substances and the prevention of illicit substances. Students will learn about the importance of good nutrition by determining the nutritional value of each of the food groups. They will learn about different theraputic diets and the relationship between wellness and good nutrition. They will also learn about common disorders due to nutritional deficiencies, and the various benefits of exercise and what BMR is.
