Activity Overview / Details

A power point presentation showing several different residential kitchens will be displayed. A hand out of "basic kitchen design principles' will be distributed before the lecture( have these ready before class begins). The students will take notes on this hand out during the lecture. At the end of the lecture, the "Architectural Kitchen Design Project Requirements" hand out will be distributed, and the kitchen design project will be introduced and discussed (have these hand outs ready before class begins, as well).

Materials/Resources

Basis Kitchen Design Principles.doc [ Download ] This handout will be distributed to the students before the lecture. They will take notes during the lecture on this handout.
basic kitchen design and the work triangle.ppt [ Download ] The instructor will use the notes on each slide power point slide to lead a discussion on basic kitchen design. Have the students sketch the basic kitchen shapes on their hand out when those slides are presented.
