I print off one student questionnaire for each student and
number them from 1 to the numbers of students in the class. I then mix up the sheets so that the numbers are no longer numerical. I stand by the door as my students walk in for the first day, and hand each of them a questionnaire. I do these so that friends that walk in together will not have a number that is close to each other. On the class room chalk board I have a seating chart of the room with a number for each desk. I also have a piece of tape on each desk with the number that matches the seating chart on the board. I tell the class to find the desk with the same number as the one on top of their paper and sit in that desk. Once all the students find their desk I ask them to fill out the student questionnaire. As the students fill their student questionnaire, I fill in my paper seating chart with the student's name.
