Part of Lesson Plan: Processes of the Rumen
Activity Overview / Details
The students are then asked to share their ideas (students will
often propose a lot of chewing, feed additives for quicker
breakdown, a blender, bacterial breakdown). I then explain that
their is a definite course that feedstuffs take through the rumen
to provide nutrient absorbtion from highly fibrous, low nutrient
feeds to provide quality forms of energy to provide for maintenance
of the animal as well as production of meat, milk and fiber.

Students know that they will be assessed by completion of
laboratory with correct function content and a follow up quiz.
