Part of Lesson Plan: Technology & Ag Production
Activity Overview / Details
Reflection on team strategy: Brainstorm in your team for the two minutes and be prepared to have someone in your group share some ideas. Did your team get all of their ideas completed? Why or why not? What were some problems? What were some successes? After sharing in the small group ask for volunteers to share their ideas to these answers with the class. Link into working as a team/cooperation. (Write these on the board.) The characteristics of a cooperative person.
1. Good listener, 2. Ability to work with others, 3. Compromises, 4. Sharing/communicator, 5. Open-minded. Did these characteristics contribute to your successes and/or failures with today's activities? Could you have accomplished this team task by yourself today in the same amount of time? (Answer is no.) If agriculturalists did not have teamwork/ cooperation, would
agriculture production be where it is today? In the FFA creed (can use powerpoint if you want as a reference if you have not talked about it yet OR if you are refreshing their memory) we talk about -- achievements won by the present and past generations of agriculturalists (paragraph one), and in the ability of progressive agriculturists to serve our own and
the public interest (paragraph 3). If it weren't for the progress of agriculturalists through teamwork and collaboration, where would agriculture be today? Think of as
many types of technology/advancements/inventions in agriculture that you can think of in the
next minute. Write these ideas down on a piece of paper. (Give them about 1
minute.) Go. Now turn to a partner and share your
ideas. (After another minute or two, regroup.) What did you come up with? (Have a couple of volunteers write
the group's ideas on the board.)
