Check for Procedure Understanding
Part of Lesson Plan: Survival of the Fittest - Jennifer Terpstra
Activity Overview / Details
Students will complete the three remaining steps 5-7 of the Survival of the Fittest lab procedure as a lab group on their own. It is important to walk around to each group and make sure they understand the directions. If they understand and are following directions, then the next thing they should be doing is subtracting 8 points from their energy point total they obtained in steps 1-4 of the procedure that was just modeled. Clarify to students that the process needs to be followed by the other two team members. Ask them how many rounds of the game they will play. The answer should be “2.” Then you will know they understand the rest of the activity and can complete the lab as a group.
