Activity Overview / Details

(5 minutes) Students will walk into the classroom and hear tunes from Jack and the Beanstalk and they will instantly see the following materials set up at the front of the classroom: pots, soil, seeds,and fertilizer.Post-it notes should already be placed on each student's desk. As students walk in, ask them to consider the music and materials and then have them individually and quietly write a hypothesis for what they predict will occur today today in class. The teacher should ask a few students to share their predictions with the rest of the class.
