Putting Fasteners to Use

Activity Overview / Details
During this demonstration the students are shown how to properly drive a nail into a pair of boards, creating a lap joint as shown in the power point presentation. Then using two new pieces of lumber of the same size and type of the first set, demonstrate how to properly countersink a hole for a wood screw, and install two screws forming another lap joint. Finally prepare a third set of similar boards using glue to complete the lap joint.
