Part of Lesson Plan: Tap and Die / Bending and Eye
Activity Overview / Details
Set up: In the front of the room place a short piece of 1/2"
round stock, a short piece of 1" X 1" square stock, a 1/2" bolt and
a 1/2" nut.
Directions: In the front of the room you will notice four
items. Take thirty seconds to silently study the items. Be sure to
look for similarities and differences.
After thirty seconds: What objects are in the front of the
room? What is different about these items? What do these items have
in common?
Tie In statement: Today we are going to learn how to turn
this piece of square stock and this piece of round stock into a
bolt and a nut.
