Have the students sand the project, the sand paper that you use will be determined some by the material that you use. Typically I start with 80 Grit, and move up to 220 grit with the students sanding by hand. The handout has blanks left in it where the sand paper grits need to be entered based on what you have on hand. After they are done sanding, I use a clear coat with 3 coats, and light sanding to finish the project, but the sky is the limit, custom paint could be a great way to bring ownership and pride to this simple project.
