Part of Lesson Plan: Egg Dragsters: 4 of 4 by Jeff Kirby
Activity Overview / Details
Have students pick up all pieces and clean up all the broken eggs. Once the area is cleaned up head back to the class.
Once you get back to the class have the students turn their car in for grading. Use the bracket to determine who gets extra credit for winning a bracket race and winning the event. Also have students choose which car get the extra credit for being the best looking car.
Teacher lead discussion:
Teacher: "So what did you think of this assignment."
Students: "It was fun!"
Teacher: "What do you mean by fun."
Students: "I liked how we were able to design and build our own creations. It was exciting to watch them race."
Teacher: "Is there anything that you learned from this assignment?"
Students "Yeah, I'm a bad car designer. lol"
Teacher: "Well what could have you done to make your car perform better?"
Student: "I could have made my car go in a straight line"
Teacher: "How?"
Student: "I could have spent more time to make sure my car was aligned correctly."
The discussion we go where ever you want to take it. I like to discuss design features and the importance of testing to make sure the finish product performs properly.
