Activity Overview / Details

When the students come into class the Wax on Wax off scene from "The Karate Kid" will be on.  After watching this short scene I will ask for a discussion on what  the teacher in the scene is trying to teach the 'Karate Kid".  The main teaching point is that you must practice before you can really get good at  anything you do. In all aspects of life, you only get better at something if you practice. In fact, perfect practice makes perfect.  

The same is true for work on the lathe or any of the machines in the shop setting.
