Part of Lesson Plan: Lesson 7: Ohm's Law and the Power Triangle
Activity Overview / Details
When the students come in I will ask them to take a piece of wire from my hand. These wires are of different lengths and gauge. There are 30 total wires which are grouped into 6 bunches of 5 like wires.
Students copy down the day's objectives that are provided for them on the board into their individual notebooks/lab books. The students are provided the handouts for the day. The students also read on the board to get into groups on the basis of wire length and type. The students are to find 4 other students with dissimilar wires.
*The students start their KWL on what they know about wire type, gauge, and length. They also write what they know about power as it relates to voltage and amperage. They do this in their notebooks, but it can be done on a separate piece of paper. (KWL chart provided below)
