Activity Overview / Details

• Students sit opposite each other in pairs. 
• Students open package using sterile techniques learned in a previous lesson, and being watched by another student for correct procedures.  If not correctly done, it must be redone.
• Cover with a cloth.  Cloth should be fan-folded.  Start with the cloth beside you.  Take the corners and keep your arms over it as you cover the field. Make sure it does not "flip" sides. 
• When the doctor comes, remove the cloth by pulling towards you holding only less than one inch from the edge, and keeping arms and hands above the cloth.  fan-fold nearest to you in case you have to cover again if you leave.
• Put on sterile gloves.
• Students name each instrument and match it from  the list that comes with the suture kit.
