Activity Overview / Details
Protected Health Information (PHI) is any personal information that identifies the patient.
I have the students give examples of PHI: name, SS # etc.
Story: One office in Fillmore will not hire students who live in Fillmore now because a student told her sister about a mutual friend who was a patient. The medical assistant lost her job. So this unit is to learn who can legally see information and when patients need to sign an additional release .
