Part of Lesson Plan: Therapeutic Modalities & 5 Phases of Injury Healing
Activity Overview / Details
One volunteer from the class is selected their forearm is draped. Draping techniques for the upper body and lower body are demonstrated and importance of appropriate draping are discussed. Sexual harassment, bedside manner and appropriate patient protocol is discussed as well as protections and accusations.
Students are introduced to ice packs, cryotherapy with one layer of towel is demonstrated including plastic wrapping if needed to hold ice pack. Huntington effect, duration of therapy are discussed and contraindications are discussed. Students are asked to recite the physiology of the cryotherapy.
