Project Introduction
Part of Lesson Plan: Careers in Medicine
Activity Overview / Details
- Student comes up to the board to write peer's ideas.
- Teacher: What are some medical professions? Think specific.
- Students give professions to the student at the board to compile list.
- Moving through the list, as students to raise their hand if they are interested in going into each profession. As students raise their hands, they will be grouped together to research that profession. If numerous students are interested in the same profession, break down profession (i.e. Physician = > General Practice Physician, Emergency Room Physician, Family Medicine, Pediatrician, etc). If students are not interested in a medical profession, as them to choose from the remaining professions that sound interesting to them.
- Students then given handouts within group to compile the necessary information.
- Students will present their findings with a visual and oral presentation lasting 3-5 minutes next class.
