Take student through websites, to show how to maneuver to find each of the careers.

• http:// www.careerinfonet.org/then click on the “videos” link, then click on “download videos” and choose “Sorenson Quicktime Uncaptioned” for format. Scroll down to “Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.” Finally choose one of the dozen or so biotechnology careers featured. Check with your instructor if you are unsure whether or not a career is in biotechnology.  This video will download.
• http:// www.pathwaystotechnology.org/, then click on the “ Success Stories” link, then find a career professional and click on their photo. Click on Video “Watch Now.”
• http://www.teachersdomain.org/special/biot/biot.career/  Scroll down and pick one of the individuals and the career they are in.

They must use citationmachine.net to cite their references.  Tell students to write down where they get their information in their notebook so they do not forget it. 

After the project is explained, give students time to explore the different careers.  Give students a couple days to talk to friends and family about careers in case they know someone in the industry.  Point students to other websites besides the ones given on the worksheet.  Students usually have one day a week that is a Career Work Day.  This breaks the assignment up and gives them time to do research on their own.  Usually after every lab, it is important to provide students with a day to work on this project.
