Supply List Creation
Part of Lesson Plan: "Design Your Own Training Room" Project
Activity Overview / Details
(Note: This portion of the lesson can either be done in the classroom utilizing supply catalogs OR in a computer lab utilizing on-line catalogs.)
For the remainder of the first day of the lesson, and the entirety of the second day of the lesson, students will be given time to search (in catalogs or on-line) for the supplies they would like to use in their Training Room. The instructor should remind the students to stay within their budget, to account for the perishable supplies they will need, and to order equipment based on the size of their room. They should begin sketching their drawing of the Training Room layout, and putting together a supply list (either written or on an Excel spreadsheet).
( NOTE: This part of the project can be challenging for the students, especially when it comes to estimating how much of each supply they may need for the year. The instructor should walk around the room throughout the class period, and check in with the students individually to see if they have any questions.)
