Activity Overview / Details

Teacher demonstrates:

1. Wrap a student's forearm in a natural position using a cotton sleeve and then  soft padding

2. Wet casting tape in a bucket and wrap it over the padding in a spiral, smoothing it with your gloved hand.  Start at the distal end of the arm. Turn the edge of the sleeve back over the new layer of casting, wrap another layer of casting material and smooth it with your hand.

Materials can be ordered from Moore Medical or any medical supply company: sleeve, padding, casting rolls, bandage scissors and casting saw.
