Lessons in this Unit

  • This lesson will cover the rules for working in a computer lab classroom, ergonomics, and internet safety.  Students will create safety poster on various topics which will eventually be displayed in the room.  This lesson would be done the first week of class, before students begin working on computer equipment.

  • This lesson prepares students to work on computer hardware inside the classroom lab.  The lesson stresses the importance of putting safety first.

  • Describe what (ESD) is and why it is important to a computer technician.
    Describe the damage that can be caused by ESD to electrical and computer components.
    Describe ways of preventing or eliminating ESD.
    Describe and/or demonstrate effective ESD Workstation Components.
