Activity Overview / Details
Lecturing Activity:
Where do we find good stories and how do we tell a story?
Now you should lead a classroom discussion and ask students to break in small group's and discuss stories that they remember during their childhood? Depending on the group's size, give students enough time to share their experiences. Ask students if they would like to share their favorite story, and ask the student why they chose this story. Examples to lead classroom discussion;
- Stories from your head (remembered, made up)
- Picture books (especially if trying to excite reading)
- Your public or school library
- Family stories
How do we learn to tell a story?
- Know and like your story
- Know and like your audience (the age of the children)
- Be flexible (depending on the age, you may have to shorten your story)
