Digital combining of images is used to increase the visual impact or overall quality. We will learn how to download royalty free images and understand copyright protection. We will understand how to check and adjust image size and resolutions. Students will collect images to be used in designing their own composite. We will be developing and advancing skills for making selections and combining images over the next 4 lessons.

The two basic methods you can use to make selections are using a tool or using color. It is important to become familiar with the different selection options, so you can determine which one will work best for the task at hand. Students will learn how to look at images and evaluate selection opportunities and figure out which tool will work best for the chosen image. In this lesson the magnetic tools will be covered. Other selection tools will be covered in future lessons.
