Part of Lesson Plan: Introduction to PhotoShop

Activity Overview / Details

This is the fun part for the kids.  Have the kids open the MBA tank file.  Explain to the students that even though it is a JPEG file, Photoshop can import that type of file and use it in Photoshop.

Have the student click on the "Image" tab and click on "Image Size"

Adjust the resolution on the image to 150 and save the file.

At this point both files (Turtle and Tank) should be active in the Photoshop workspace.

Now "pull" each window off of its anchor by grabbing the tab with your mouse and moving it down a little bit.  The window will then transform into a floating window which can be moved around.  Do the same to the other image so both are in a floating mode.

Now select the "move tool" which is the uppermost icon on the Tools palette and it looks like an arrow with a little cross to the right of the arrow.

Once selected, the button will lighten up to signify that it is active.  Now with the mouse cursor over the turtle, click and hold the left button and drag the turtle into the tank.

Have the student save their work for evaluation.
