Objectives and Goals

Students will use Adobe Photoshop software to whiten, improve and/or enhance teeth and the whites of the eyes in a digital portrait.

Activities in this Lesson

  • Fun opening activity--have students take the online interactive quiz where they rate whether a person’s smile is real or fake.  There are 20 video clips to rate – students can review their results at the end, discuss and compare their findings.

Discuss the interactive online quiz – how they determined whether someone had a “real” or a “fake” smile (usually through the eyes) and how they rated.

Display the Smile_Montage.jpg file while demonstrating this lesson.

Discuss the appeal of a great smile and how teeth whitening fits into professional portrait photography (making everyone look the best they can)
