Part of Lesson Plan: Unusual views, filters turn used to make a Horror Movie Poster

Activity Overview / Details

Teacher - Cover your desks or tables with white butcher paper. Put out some Black, blue and red markers or pens. Play scary Halloween music as the class walks into the room.

Load the 10 movie poster presentation to a computer with a projector attached. Have presentation of 10 Horror Movie posters playing. It has a continuous loop.

Instruct students to view presentation, watching for one poster that conveys a mood of fright.

With the identified poster in mind, students will use markers to simply sketch the dominate element on the poster and write a few sentences about how fright is conveyed in their opinion on the butcher paper.

Randomly choose students to share their observations. Have students walk around and view other's work for 3 minutes.
