Straight-through cable creation
Part of Lesson Plan: Creation of Straight-through and Crossover Cat 5/5e Cable
Activity Overview / Details
Students will create straight-through cable with six-foot section of cable.
Students will terminate both ends of the cable.
Student will test cable with Fluke Cable tester under instructor's direct supervision.
Students who are successful will continue on to create a six-foot section of crossover cable.
Students who were not successful will determine problem/issue with instructor and figure out source of problem. If problem was poor crimping, try recrimping. If problem is faulty wire scheme, student will cut off faulty end and retry until successful.
