Activity Overview / Details

Display the Picasso picture montage file as students enter the classroom.  Have students guess who the artist is.

Two short videos (mpg format) to introduce the topic of cubism from an artist's point of view and a great video montage of some of Picasso work set to music.  Can be projected or copied to student computers for use with headphones.

Materials:  Adobe Photoshop CS3 or higher, a digital or scanned portrait (preferrably a head shot).  Display provided student samples 1 through 5 as student s begin to create their Picasso style portraits.
