Part of Lesson Plan: Career Opportunities in the Travel and Tourism Industry

Activity Overview / Details

Students will come into the room, sit down, and see index cards on their tables.  Each student will choose a card and read the description on it. (Each card will have a different career written on it within travel, tourism, hospitality, event planning, and sports/leisure) The student will read the cards and move about the room finding other students whose jobs fit into the same category as their own.  There will be about 4-5 students in each group.

Students will sit in their new job alike groups and share with the class what the main name of their group is and the jobs within it.  The teacher will write all classifications on the board and ask the class if they agree about the group names and if the students are in the right group. The main groups will be:

1. Airlines

2. Convention

3. Cruise Lines

4. Travel Agency

5. Tourism
