Part of Lesson Plan: Scratch Intro #6 - Project Part 1
Activity Overview / Details
Have the students save the project. Make sure you have access to the student drives as it is possible that a partner may not be at school for part 2 of this project.
The students tend to get very competive as they want their project to be the best. A good way to encourage collaboration rather than domination is to call on each team to share what their project is. On the overhead project type the name of each project. I have a word processing program that is loaded with a blank screen and use a large font. Call out Team 1 what is your project? That team may respond "Pollution" and you would type that. Then call out to Team 2 "What project do you have?" Team 2 may respond "Pedestrian Safety" and you type that. If the projects are similar in nature add a asterisk after a project you already typed. Then comment, "great we have one/two or three teams working on XXX". Make it positive that you have more than one team with the same idea. Let those teams know they can use all students in the room for more ideas. If you would rather be in front on the class then you can use your white board to list the project that students are working on. I like to list them in a word processing program then I can have a hard copy for reference.
