Creating Job Description Charts

Part of Lesson Plan: Becoming a Deputy Probation Officer

Activity Overview / Details

Using San Diego County's DPO job description, as well as the notes taken by students throughout the lesson, let students know they will be creating a Flip Chart where they will describe what it takes to become a DPO.

Flip charts can be created by using two 81/2 x 11 pieces of papers, you will need to place the bottom paper 1/2 inch higher than the top and fold them down, lining them up so you have a flip chart with a cover sheet and three additional pages where students will report on the information requested.  Students will include the following sections on their flip charts: Education & Experience; Skills, and Duties & Responsibilities.  Encourage students to be creative, and explain they can include illustrations on their covers, as well as detailed information when describing each one of the sections of their flip charts.  I have attached a copy of a flip chart as a point of reference.
