Take a day in the computer lab for the students to find companies on their own and email or call them to ask if they would allow a student to shadow them or if they have chosen one of your contacts have them research the company and find out all they can before the job shadow. The information that the student should know about it company is who owns it, who they will be shadowing and the correct spelling of their name, what the companies role is on event planning and anything else they can find out about the company.
Teacher will hand out "Job Shadow Planning Sheet". The student will research the company and fill in the needed contact information on the event planning company they want to job shadow with. They need to contact the company either by email or by a phone call to set up the job shadow day.
Teacher will give handout "job shadowing questions to ask" and go over with the class. There are 13 questions on this form go over them and add anymore that you think that you may want to know, you can also add questions as the day goes on. When scheduling your job shadow make sure you let them know that you will also need about 20-30 at the end of the day for a interview.
Student will write a contact letter to send to the company (teacher will give a sample letter out) this letter can be sent or emailed to the company.
