Part of Lesson Plan: Creating a theme Park

Activity Overview / Details

Now after talking about all of the theme parks and what you like and dislike about each one you are going to form groups of 1-4 and make your own unique theme park.  Each group will think of an ongoing theme to base your park on, create a name, create rides, neighborhoods, restaurants, and a layout for your park.  Your theme park should have at least 6 neighborhoods each area can be based on one ride, show,  restaurant or other fun attraction, it can have many different things in it or just one.  One large sheet of paper will be given to the group for them to design their theme park, the group should design their layout as this paper will be turned in as your park map.  Get into groups and start brainstorming about your theme park everything in it must be within your theme for example if you were going to create a theme park based on the cultures of the world you may have the following neighborhoods, Italy with an Italian restaurant, China with a Great Wall ride, Germany with a sausage and beer stand, France with an Eiffel Tower ride, etc.  This all fits into one theme yet it has very different very distinct neighborhoods. Your group will also prepare a written description of all of the details of your theme park.
