Chewing Gum
Part of Lesson Plan: Chewing Gum Lab
Activity Overview / Details
When students are ready, with no information, simply weigh a random peice of gum. Have students guess how many grams it weighs. Compare answers.
Generate discussion: "After I chew this gum, what do you think it will weigh?"
Students will discuss out loud whether the gum will gain or lose weight.
Pass out Worksheet "Gum Lab". Have students write down what their scientific hypothesis is about whether the gum will lose or gain weight.
