Show the first :30 seconds of the clip The Voice (Holland Style).

Ask: What is your impressions of the man in the red shirt? Write them down.

Play the remainder of the video.

Ask: How have your impressions altered if at all? Write those down.

Have students respond to each of their areas of personal bias and have them indicate the relative strength of their conviction in each area. This exercise can be done anonymously by leaving names off the sheets. Have students identify those beliefs that they are willing to reconsider. Under what circumstances would the reconsider those beliefs? Which beliefs or biases do they feel are not subject to alteration?
