Jig Saw Safety (day two)

Part of Lesson Plan: Jig Saw Safety

Activity Overview / Details

Ask your students what safety equipment is needed to go into the shop and work with this tool. Make sure they are all equipped with safety glasses, minimal, meaning face shields or googles are acceptable as eye protection.

email - info@fastcap.com

The phone number is at the bottom of their web page under Help/Contact Us

If you call these guys and tell them Mo sent you or you are a teacher, they will provide you with any of the above eye protection free.

I think it's more about being a teacher than knowing me! They  just know Ms. Molina orders twice a school year.

Now you get to play, go out in to the shop........ you should be out there. Find a scrap piece of wood, draw a circle on it free hand or a compass if you have one for everybody. Have your students do the same (give them five to ten minutes).  Start "demonstrating" the tool use by cutting out the circle. Now have the students do the same "modeling", walk around and check (understanding)  to see every one is using the jig saw correctly and safely (assesing them).
