Part of Lesson Plan: Pneumatic Tools (staplers & nailers) and Compressed Air
Activity Overview / Details
Class is separated into 4 groups, with a pair of students in each group nailing together as many blocks as they can in two minutes. The instructor does the same, only using a pneumatic nailer. When the time is up, we compare the quanity of blocks nailed in each group and those nailed by the instructor.
The blocks will be 3" x 4" strips of 3/4" plywood and require 2 - 5d nails each to attach them to a 2" x 4" 4 feet long. Each team will use a separate 2" x 4" and shared by each team member. If they complete one side, they will turn over the board and use the other side for attachment of the blocks.
