After the students arrive view various animated clips of simple classic fairy tales, they have great story structure and most students may be familiar with them.

Attached are three Warner Brother cartoons that interpret the classics-Three Little Pigs, Hansel and Gretel, and Little Red Riding Hood, you may use these or find your own appropriate shorts, music videos, or stories.

After viewing the shorts ask students to identify particular areas of interest or scenes  that they enjoyed. Begin a discussion about why they think the story has value or kept them interested in watching it through until the end.

Create a list of the responses on the board or loose paper that is large enough for all to see.
