The Instructor will safely demoonstrate the proper technique for assisting a conscious victim down a Fire Service Ground Ladder.  All appropriate PPE shall be worn at all times while working on and around ground ladders.

Ensure that the ladder is properly placed below the window.  The ladder should be footed at all times.

Using a student or other instructor as the victim, the Instructor will assist the victim out of the window and onto the ladder.  Once the victim is in place, descend the ladder.  Emphasize proper technique by placing hands on rungs beneathe the armpits of the victim. 

Reassure the victim that they will be safe. If the victim should slip press your body into the victim pinning them into the ladder.  Once the victim regains their position, continue down the ladder.
