Name shapes
Part of Lesson Plan: Shapes
Activity Overview / Details
Place students into groups of 3-4 and discuss where they might now see similar shapes. Each of the shapes discussed in the lecture should be used as a basis for student discussion.
Group lists should include input from all students and more than one idea should be written under each shape. Students are encouraged to have at least 7 ideas for each shape.
Each student in the group is then responsible for specific shapes. Groups are then mixed and students share out wtih each student representing their assigned shape to the new group.
*Side Competitive Note*- The original groups are told to create lists that they will shoot outside of class. The group with the highest percentage of pictures that are on their list (min 20 pictures in the list) will win. Typically a lunch or a ice cream day. Food is the great motivator.
