Performing the CPAT

Part of Lesson Plan: Introduction to CPAT

Activity Overview / Details

The students will then go outside to CPAT equipment.

The class is divided into squads of 6 cadets.  Each squad has a squad leader.  One squad at a time will work an event.  The squad leader will repeat the instructions of how to properly do the event.  He/she will first demonstrate the event using proper technique.  One cadet at a time will work the event.  On the first day the students will only have time to actually perform one event.  During the next few days the squads will rotate through the different events.  Each cadet will have a note pad and write down what they need to work on in order to properly perform the event.  An example is: for the Ceiling Breach and Pull the cadet must push up a 60lb hinged door 3 times and pull down an 80lb ceiling device.  They must do four sets of 3 pushed and 5 pulls to complete the event.
