Activity Overview / Details
Instructor will discuss the importance of the front constant velocity axle shaft assmbly and its role in the drivetrain system. Instructor will inform the students of why it is so important to perform front drive axle maintenance on vehicles in order to avoid costly vehicle failures. Instructor will show video clips which include how to inspect CV axle boots, removal and installation of front drive axle assembly, and whether or not they need to be serviced.
Instructor will give the students three (3) inspection sheets, one (1) to complete during the lecture session and the other two (2) will be utilized while in the lab. Students will follow along and take notes during this session to use them and the inspection sheet as a reference during their own front drive axle assembly inspections. Instructor will answer any questions that may arise during this session.
