Building a Logo for Web Design

by

Introduction

Before designing a logo, student's must understand what a logo is, what it represents and what it is supposed to do. A logo is not just a mark - a logo reflects a business's commercial brand via the use of shape, fonts, color, and / or images.

Students will produce a logo. The instructor will introduce students to the interface, terminology, and basic panels in Adobe Illustrator. Students then are introduced to drawing and editing tools such as the Line, Rectangle, Pen and Text Tools. Using the "I do, we do, you do" method, demonstrates to the student how to build a simple logo in Illustrator.

This is lesson 2 of 3 lessons. Lesson 1 is "Planning a Logo for Web Design," and Lesson 3 is "Logo Review and Redesign."
