Design Competition CHANGES: Flashlight Housing

by

Students will now take the PLANNING stage and put it into action: the actual redesign of their own FLASHLIGHT HOUSING part in 3D Solid Modeling CAD software. This is the culminating lesson for this project.

Introduction

Here is the Flashlight assembly, all 8 parts shown.

Item 1, the housing, is the part that we are redesigning. In lesson 3 the students were challenged to plan on some design changes for the sake of appearance, functionality and, if possible, changes needed to meet the needs of handicapped persons. In this lesson they will incorporate the changes planned. The students will be shown the software tips and tricks needed to change the housing's appearance. They already have the tools necessary to change functionality and design.
