The following activities tie in to a project based lesson for Welding and Material Joining.
Items covered in this portion will be: sketching, material identification, drawing and print interpretation.
For this portion of the project students should have a basic understanding of print/drawing interpretation.
- For this project, .250" material thickness is typical.
- Material thicknesses and dimensions can vary depending on instructor and material availability. Most of the resources in this project will not reflect material thickness.
- As welding goes, learning is often at an independent pace and often times the American Welding Society modular format is utilized. Overview found here: http://www.aws.org/education/Learning
- It is suggested to use a hybrid of the American Welding Society modular format and small groups of 2-4 students engaging in this project at any one time, planning in advanced a schedule given the time elements for this project and the ability of your students.
