Lesson 1: Drawing Arcs and Circles in CAD

In this opening lesson to this project, students are introduced to the concepts, the applications of geometric construction of circles, and arcs in CAD. To accomplish this all students must be adept at constructing circles and arcs using all methods that a CAD program has to offer. This lesson will come after units or lessons on the introduction to the CAD program and the basic drawing of lines, polylines, and the principle coordinate systems used in the CAD program. These lessons highlight the use of AutoCAD but other instructors could adapt these lessons and methodologies and apply it to 2D drafting with any other CAD program in use at their institution.
