Lesson 1: Energy Modeling from Scratch

Introduction

In this opening lesson to this project, students are introduced to Energy Modeling. Students will create an energy model of a simple building with one zone, walls, doors, windows, roof, flooring, lighting, ceilings. Loads will be calculated and efficiency evaluated based on material choices and building orientation. Students will utilize EnergyPro software to create the heirarchy of building elements and run load reports. Students will analyse design decisions effect on the energy efficiency of the building.
