Introduction

In this opening lesson to this project, students are introduced to the concepts and skills relating to the parts of a circle, dividing a line into equal parts, and bisecting lines and angles. The students will learn these skills and then apply them to drawings they create on assignments on paper.

  • The students will be able to identify the parts of a circle including the following: quadrant, sector, angle, segment, semi-circle, diameter, radius, chord, tangent, circumference, concentric circles and eccentric circles.
  • The students will be able to divide a line into equal parts using a ruler.
  • The students will be able to bisect any given line.
  • The students will be able to bisect an angle.
