In this lesson, students will receive a survey data from the client showing a contour map. The client is asking for estimates on fencing the property. Student will use the pythagorean theorem to find the real world lengths of the property lines. Students will research cost of different fence materials and create a table showing how many sections each property line needs, cost per section and the cost of fencing.

- Students will be able to critically think about real world and paper measurements
- Students will be able to use the Pythagorean theorem to solve for real world lengths
- Student will learn how to read survey data showing contour maps
- Students will be able to utilize 2D CAD software to draw plat maps / topographic maps
- Student will be able to conduct real world research of cost for different type of fences and present the difference in cost through a table
